Theme:Interoperability with AT
From TEITAC
The original Standards require mainstream ICT to be compatible with AT. This has posed some technical and operational problems, as AT software methods are often neither published nor consistent. Some feel that we need to make an effort to share compatibility burdens between mainstream and AT industry. One version is a requirement for AT APIs.
Another version is to consider interoperability standards jointly between AT and E&IT industries. Often the reason AT software methods are not published or consistent is because of the lack of a standard; AT vendors are forced to make things work “by hook or by crook.” A mutually supported standard(s) between IT and AT would answer the question, “How is mainstream ICT to be compatible with AT?”
